Falling Book 1 Fall and Break edition by Barbara Elsborg Romance eBooks

Falling is easy. Landing without breaking your heart? Impossible.
Harper is no longer behind bars, but it doesn’t feel like it. Ten years serving time for a crime he didn’t commit have left him shut down, numb, and a frozen wreck over the simplest of choices. He’s acutely aware of the dark-haired young man checking him out in the supermarket, but he’s too deep in panic mode to even meet the guy’s gaze. Afraid the slightest move will trigger a fall that will never stop.
Fresh off a long-term relationship with a controlling man, Malachi is stuck living with relatives who think he’s a waste of oxygen. The tall guy in the long, grey coat is the first bright spot he’s glimpsed in a long time...though the man’s unblinking stare at a bottle of shower gel is a touch alarming.
Hard experience tells both of them to turn away before lust turns to hopeless attraction, and inevitably to disaster. But once their sparks connect, the arc of electricity is too strong to deny. Even if the cost is too much to bear.
Warning Contains an ex-con with disaster written all over him, a boy toy who’s trouble with a capital T, a damp old British house, compulsive meddling, and enough hot sex to cure the severe case of nervous babbling.

That was a book with so much different feelings.Despair, love, deception, unconditional love, humor, unbelieve, hate, obsession, righteousness.
But overall love, humor and hot scenes stood out.
It was a lot of story. The flow was really good and the storyline convincing.
Harper and Malachi. Instant love (or should I say instant hotness)
Harper just from jail after ten years for something he didn't do.
Malachi living a crap life on the streets not allowed to enter his sisters house after six and in the early morning he had to leave the house again.
They meet in a supermarket volatile. But they notice.
After a second encounter where Malachi is helping Harper rebuild his fathers house they are almost together every day.
Harper his life is so restricted by the law it is sometimes claustrophobic. When you realize what is really going on in his life it is so heartbreaking.
Malachi is s wonderful guy with so much humor. He left his keeper to build his own life but somehow life is against him.
Apart the are desperate and Harper is falling in a black hole called life, together they are great and both falling...... for each-other.
Bit by bit there is progress on all fronts.
I'm so glad Conrad gets his own story. He so deserves it.
A mini minus : at some points there should blank lines between paragraphs. It was really confusing.

Falling Book 1 Fall and Break edition by Barbara Elsborg Romance eBooks Reviews
The devastation of being subject to something unjust that has changed your life is monumental. In my personal life the idea of justness and fairness, above all others, holds true as a tenant of my philosophy and, hopefully, actions.
Elsborg is particularly talented at drawing the reader in and keeping them invested - and she creates tension, overt and subtle, through narrative where you as a reader feel like you've fallen into the characters world and they are going to drive by you, live next to you, or show up at your local hangout any minute. How she can do that when her characters live across an ocean to me I have no idea. I only know every time I open the first page of one of her books I am lost, immersed, and completely and utterly in love with where she is taking me. It always involves pain, goes deeper into the dark then I want for the characters, and involves circumstances that, in real life, you would eschew as unbelievable to happen to one person. Luck of the draw, there but for the grace of God you'd say.
Malachi and Harper's connection is immediate and strong - and from that moment you know they are bound - to each other and to finding a better way out for the future. Their journey will take them through the highest highs and the lowest lows and there is work, trust, and hope involved in the happy ending.
You know when you read a romance? That feeling you always have that it is * going * to work out? That no matter what, you know this genre creates happy endings? Well Elsborg actually makes you question throughout the book whether you are reading a romance and how possibly can the happy ending be at the end of the rainbow for these guys? As with all things that are painful you have to balance that pain somehow - sometimes through love, sometimes through gritty determination, and here it is through the clever use of humor. I know I said it was dark - but Malachi provides a counter to the dark with his open and breezy tongue. He's a talker all right - and it is that talk that constantly reinforces that hope lives here and sacrifice. Love and passion. Usually in books like these most folks would be drawn to the darker hero - the one who says less. The one who protects the other. And it's true here about protection - but Malachi is the light to Harper's darkness - his despair. Harper's got his own unique dialogue - rather resembling a turtle coming out a shell - but it is Malachi that I fell in love with.
I've already started Conrad's book - which promises to be very different and equally mesmerizing!
😂
“Oh f**k,” Malachi muttered. “You’re bigger than me.” A laugh burst from Harper’s throat. Malachi growled. “Not by much. Do you have a ruler?”
😜
Does this deserve 5 stars? Hell NO, how about 10 stars!

Funny story! I could have sworn I read this book months ago! After checking my and Audibles library, it was a book similar to this one but NOT THIS ONE! Wow! What a pleasant surprise.
First of all, who would NOT want to either marry, be best friends with, have a son like, or adopt Malachi?!
Second of all, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE LET MACLEOD ANDREWS OR CHRIS PATTON, OR MATT BACA NARRATE THIS STORY! Pretty please with hugs and kisses!
💞
I'm so desperately IN LOVE with Malachi's character. And who wouldn't be in love with a guy whose name means, "my angel,” MalachiI would so be over the moon if my son turned out to be like him. Of course I'd be around to protect him from the Conrad's and Brian's of the world.
Everything out of Malachi's mouth was charming, with a naughty twist. And he was just a sweetheart! I'm just so in love with him!
You wouldn't think with the dark overtone of a man being convicted of one of the most horrendous crimes and having his freedom taken away for something he swears and has never to stopped swearing to that he is innocent, that you'd find yourself laughing in tears of pure joy because a character like Malachi completely shines this beacon of light and hope on a dark situation.
💞
“You don’t need to be afraid. We’re not defusing a ticking bomb here, or doing brain surgery. It’s just sex. If you fall, I’ll catch you.
Promise. Now hurry up and kiss me before zombies rush in and eat you. If that does happen, make sure you keep them busy while I escape.”
💞
For me, this is story is the best read or audible that I've come across this year, period. And for once I have no complaints about the amount of erotica in this story. Harper deserved every kiss, every kind touch, every moment that Malachi made love to him and vise versa.
Conrad was an absolute sh*t in this story! So completely different than in Breaking. The title fit him perfectly and now I really understood the dynamic between him and Archer now. I guess that's why reading book 1 first is a good idea but I'm glad I didn't because I would have loathed Conrad too much!
Anyway, Ms. Barbara Elsborg outdid herself with this story, with creating a character who was wise, yet innocent with a tiny spark of nativity and another character who deserved so much more love and less heartache than he received.
Together, a beautiful tragic love story with a happily ever after came to be!
Yea, this story has my heart all in love and giggling happily and what not. 💞 And then I read,
“I fell so hard for you, I was bruised,” Malachi said. “I love you and you’re not allowed to say it back, not yet. Not until the moment is perfect.” “When then?” Malachi sucked in a breath. “Okay… now you can say it.” Harper grinned. “I love you.”
That moment alone, put this story in a serious battle with Point of No Return from M. J. Walker as my NUMBER ONE all time favorite MM reads EVER!!!
P.O.r.N. was the story that had me fall in love with every type of MM romance whether suspense, horror, sci-if, action, mystery or just romance. Didn't matter, no story has EVER came anywhere close to taking the number one spot in my heart, except this one!

Ms. Elsborg, I swear I will mention your books on any of the authors reviews I mentioned in your review, fair is fair. I promise! 😍
Is it bad that this story is so endearing to me that I already HATE, DISLIKE, LOOK DOWN ON, READY TO THROW A TANTRUM towards anyone who doesn't feel the exact same way, with 5 stars in review and in their hearts???
